Business License Portal
Body
Section 6-1-400(J) of the South Carolina Code provides that businesses shall have access for reporting, calculating, and paying business license taxes through a business license tax portal (the “Business License Portal”) hosted and managed by the South Carolina Revenue and Fiscal Affairs Office (“RFA”). RFA has contracted for the development and operation of the Business License Portal, which is available for renewals only. Businesses must still obtain new business licenses directly from the relevant city or town.

To access and use the Business License Portal, please click on the link above or copy and paste the following link: https://www.localblrenewal.com/

The Business License Portal calculates business license taxes based on gross income data submitted by the accessing business and based on classes and rates provided by participating municipalities. RFA assumes no liability for the accuracy of gross income amounts, class schedules, or rate schedules submitted to the Business License Portal by businesses or by the participating municipalities. Businesses using the Business License Portal should independently verify the gross income reported and the classes and rates applied by the Business License Portal.

Section 6-1-400(B)(3) of the South Carolina Code provides that a business may be entitled to a refund if it submits a business license tax payment that is greater than the amount owed. The refund must be requested before June 1 of the year in which the payment is due.
